Since ancient times the Eagle has been used as a symbol of strength and courage. This large bird of prey has been admired for its powerful appearance and majestic, soaring flight. The Sumerians chose it as their emblem of power 5,000 years ago. So did imperial Rome many centuries later. Today the Bald Eagle is the national bird of the United States. The Eagle flies higher and sees better than any other bird. Therefore, its perspective is different from other creations that are held close to the Earth, and it is closer to the Creator.

 

The American Bald Eagle carries strong and emotional images and representative connotations for many values that are sacred within our American culture, both on a personal and a business perspective. When the American Bald Eagle is mentioned, most people, including those Business Friends seeking our assistance who feel "endangered" but desire to regain the perspective and freedom of the Bald Eagle have visions and thoughts of:

 

Freedom: the image of a Bald Eagle soaring with wide outstretched wings for long periods comes to everyone, almost immediately, as the ultimate symbol of "being free."

 

Grandeur: with a beautiful and distinct white head and tail with a strong brown/black body and the consistent manner in which it displays its proud and strong mannerisms, there is no doubt why it is a clear and grand symbol for strength, honor and being in control.

 

Wisdom/Honesty/Strength/Courage: both Bald and Golden Eagles (and their feathers) are highly revered and considered sacred within American Indian traditions, culture and religion. They are honored with great care and shown the deepest respect. They represent honesty, truth, majesty, strength, courage, wisdom, power and freedom. As they roam the sky, they are believed to have a special connection to God.

 

Leadership: according to traditional American Indian beliefs, the Creator made all the birds of the sky when the World was new. Of all the birds, the Creator chose the Eagle to be the leader... the Master of the Sky.

 

Survival: once an endangered species, it has survived and fought to remain the elegant icon of Freedom and Honor, and how it is achieved and retained. When threatened, a fighter, a survivor.

 

Commitment: the male and female Bald Eagle remain together for life, never leaving each other, as well as often remaining with the same and initial nest year after year. Both the male and the female will sit on the eggs during incubation to share the responsibility. The Bald Eagle is NOT a migratory bird; they remain in their primary area of habitat.
